Flamingo Land are back. Support the campaign to bring back the legal expert who helped us win last time!
In 2019, a massive campaign forced Yorkshire theme park operators Flamingo Land to withdraw their bid to build a tourist resort on the banks of Loch Lomond.
But they’re back with yet another rebrand and plans for 127 woodland lodges, a hotel, water park and much more of the same. Thanks to your generosity, our legal expert Ian Cowan is hard at work putting together a detailed objection to over 1000 pages of plans. This will add to over 30,000 objections… and counting…. that have already been lodged through our portal. If you haven’t objected yet, there’s still time to do so here.
These plans would see a development on a colossal scale, one that would leave a scar on the face of Loch Lomond. It will involve the sale of a huge piece of publicly-owned land and lock the local economy into unsustainable, seasonal, poor-quality jobs. It will bring huge additional pressure on local roads which already cannot cope during tourist season.
Getting a large number of strong objections is the first part of the task. The next is to persuade the National Park Board- who will make the decision on the application- to reject it at a public hearing. We really want to get Ian Cowan in to present his findings to the board, and with your help we can do that. Anything we raise above and beyond that level will be used to print and distribute posters to people locally so that they can show their objections.
Give what you can today.
Please note: if you are kind enough to donate more than £50 to this campaign your name and address will be checked against the electoral register to ensure you are a permissible donor.
