Save Filmhouse Cinema

This has been a tremendous week for our fundraising – including Gift Aid we’ve reached £135,660 to save the Filmhouse building.  It’s really encouraging that we also achieved our match funding target on Wednesday. All this progress is fantastic and we send the most heartfelt thanks to all of you!

We now have a new match funding opportunity for the weekend. The Arch Stanton Charitable Fund in Boston (USA) has approached us with a generous offer to match all donations gathered this weekend, up to the amount of £10,000. So, we need to make a push over the next two days to find £10,000 in other new donations – they’ll be worth double, thanks to this match funding donation. Could you possibly spare a few minutes to help circulate this message and encourage others to donate? Anything you can do to spread the word will make a real difference!

The Arch Stanton Charitable Fund is dedicated to supporting cinemas that maintain analogue projection capabilities and continue to screen movies on 35mm and 70mm on a regular basis. We’re lucky and very grateful to receive their generous support.  Maintaining the equipment and specialist expertise to handle archival 35mm and 70mm presentation to the highest standards – and earning the trust of the world’s most cautious and stringent film archives – is an important part of what has allowed Filmhouse to showcase such a bracing diversity of films over the years.
