HELP SAVE LIVE MUSIC AT DUKERIES | WORKSOP

Aim

We need your support to cover a huge unexpected PPL/PRS bill. Your help will ensure Worksop doesn't lose its only grassroots venue.

At Dukeries Brewery Tap, our mission has always been simple: bring quality live music, local bands, tribute acts, and community events to Worksop. For the past 8 years we have put everything back into the venue to improve as much as we can and keep going for the local community. 

Running an independent venue isn't easy, but we work hard to manage our day-to-day costs, including setting up agreed monthly Direct Debits to cover our ongoing music licensing (PPL/PRS).

Unfortunately we were hit with a sudden, unexpected demand to pay £5,600 in backdated licensing fees. PPL/PRS didn't take our direct debit that was agreed to pay this bill over 10 months and instead are demanding £11k+ lump sum immediately, with threats of compounding late fees if it isn't cleared.

As a small, independent local business, we simply do not have 1k nevermind 11k sitting in reserve.

Our monthly operating costs and ongoing PPL/PRS payments are fully budgeted and sustainable moving forward, this isn't an issue of long-term viability. However, this sudden demand creates an immediate financial hurdle that threatens our ability to keep hosting the live music and events you love.

We are actively challenging the breakdown of this calculation behind the scenes. However, to protect the venue from escalating penalties and ensure our stage stays legal and operational, we need to raise these funds right now.

Every single pound raised through this campaign will go directly toward clearing the backdated demand.
