Aim
In Memory of our beautiful daughter Isabella, who had a love for animals and conservation, I am writing a children's book in her memory.
Isabella was born with a very rare disease called Diamond Blackfan Anemia. Since the moment she was born she had to fight to be here. And my oh my, was she a fighter! She has lived 8 beautiful years on this earth, but anyone who knew her would tell you, she will forever be remembered. She had such a loving and kind presence about her. What stood out to me as her mum, was her incredible love for animals (specifically wild cats) and her passion and understanding of conservation and keeping these animals in the wild.
After a long battle with her disease and a bone marrow transplant, Isabella passed away in October 2024.
As her mother, I was shattered. But before she passed I made a promise to her in the last moments that I got to spend with her... That I will continue her story. That I will write books about her going to conservations and helping these animals as she was always planning to do when she got out of hospital.
I visited a conservation for Cheetahs in South Africa, and decided that this would be the place I would work with for Isabella's first book.
So, the books are based on facts about real animals and real conservation projects. Although I am the one who visited, Isabella will be the main character of the book, and this will be her legacy that lives on. She will help children learn more about conservation and how to help animals in need, and grow children's love and understanding for our wild life.
I cannot wait to get this project out there and contribute to these amazing conservations in her honour.
All funds will go towards funding the book (illustration, publishing, printing ect.)
I will also track all the progress on the social media platforms I have created for this project.
