My album has been recorded, mixed and mastered. Now all it needs is to be sent off for reproduction.
I began to write songs about observations of life in 2013 and played them at folk clubs, open mics and around camp fires at festivals. In 2016 a number of people who knew my music began to ask if I had a CD to buy, I didn't have one so I began to consider the idea and in 2017 I recorded a few songs at a local recording studio. I didn't really like the result and put the idea on the back burner until October 2017 when I sang at the Derby Folk Festival folk song competition. Someone at the festival recommended Jason Marshall at 74 Sound in Derby as they thought he might understand what kind of sound I was aiming at. Nine months later, following many enjoyable and sometimes daunting hours in the studio my CD is recorded, mixed and mastered. The artwork is nearly finished thanks to Peter Visscher and all it needs is the funds for it to be sent off to be reproduced.
I never imagined that I would get this far. It's been a labour of love and I've learnt a lot over the last nine months. It would be amazing to be able to tell those first few people who asked if I had a CD to buy that, finally 'Yes I do!'
The funding is for the production of the CD with a case and a booklet of lyrics.
