Co-op Warm Spaces Funding Boost has provided £550 of match funding
The cost of living has hit everyone hard but we're here to bring the community together to keep warm and we need your help!
Sandale Trust is a grass roots charity in the heart of Buttershaw who work to support the community every way we possibly can. We have a food pantry, community shop, older peoples services and much more.
For the last few years, we have been running a Coats 4 Community project at our Buttershaw centre, where the public have been donating coats to us that they no longer need, and our staff sort through them and then put them on a rail for people who are in need of a coat to keep warm during the winter months to come and grab one suited for them free of charge. In October 2022, we decided to expand this project, and turn the Sandale Den building into a warm space. The room is heated every day with heaters and we also have blankets and hot water bottles available and anyone is welcome to come pay us a visit to escape the brisk weather conditions with hot meal and drink available for everyone. The Warm Space also has a variety of activities to take part in, including board games, activity books, listening to music and much more. Chargers for electronic devices are also available.

The cost of living crisis has hit everyone hard this year, meaning people are struggling to afford their shopping bills, electric bills and their heating bills, so that is why we have started this project to support people so that they can keep warm whilst meeting new people and engaging in new activities. When summer comes though, we don't want to end this project, so we will continue with opening the den to the community with summer activities to choose from, we will offer them cold drinks and ice creams and every once in a while we will do BBQ's!
In order to keep this project running to support the community, we need your help! Our organisation and this project in particular runs from donations from very generous people. Without any funding, we are unable to keep projects like this running for much longer. If you could spare just a small donation, we would be able to keep supporting the community with our project and hopefully in the future be able to use parts of the donations towards new activities for the community to take part in. The cost of living crisis has affected us a great deal, we are struggling to pay our utility bills, replenish stock and pay our staff for the work they are doing, therefore your donations will be such a huge help to our charity as well as your community. Lets bring everyone together to support one another through this terrible economic crisis!
Your donations will help us to keep the heaters on, buy ingredients to provide hot meals, purchase new activities for people to take part in, and find will also help us to find new support services for the community.
