Let’s build the loudest, happiest youth band Glasgow’s seen in years.
SambaYaBamba Youth Street Band is happening.
Young folk will be back in the room, instruments in hand, and music will spill back onto the streets of Glasgow.
We’ve secured funding to deliver 26 youth band sessions in 2026.
This crowdfunder decides how far we can take it.
We’re raising funds to multiply the joy of SambaYaBamba Youth and make sure more young folk can be part of it.

What we’re creating
SambaYaBamba Youth Street Band is a Carnival street band for young folk aged 11 to 25.
It’s loud, colourful and unapologetically joyful.
Up to 50 young folk rehearse together each week, learn from brilliant street band artists, and perform in their own city. Along the way they build confidence, friendships and pride.
They create music you feel in your heart and a community that changes how they see themselves and the world around them.
What your support makes possible
The youth band is returning.
The 26 funded sessions give us a strong foundation.
This crowdfunder builds on that foundation.
Your support means more sessions, more young folk, and more chances to connect, create and perform through Carnival music.

● Work with brilliant tutors and youth support staff
● Run weekly rehearsals in safe, welcoming spaces
● Cover transport so getting there is not a barrier
● Keep instruments in good condition and ready to play
● Refresh costumes so young folk feel proud stepping out
● Create more performances across the city

Who we are
SambaYaBamba Youth Street Band is part of SambaYaBamba, one of the UK’s most respected Carnival bands.
For almost 30 years, SambaYaBamba has brought rhythm, colour and connection to the streets of Glasgow and beyond. From that legacy, the youth band was born.
We take world-class street band tutors, put drums and horns in young hands, and create something unforgettable. Everything is provided free to families.
