 New stretch target

Sam Bradford has been selected to stand as the Green Party candidate in the next General Election which we’re expecting to be called soon. A ‘Member of Parliament’ (MP) will be elected to represent Stockton North at the House of Commons, and we’re now working to raise the £500 deposit needed to get Sam on the ballot paper.

In his personal statement, Sam says "while other parties may take the North East for granted or view places like Stockton as lesser, I believe the Green Party is in a position to properly represent local people". A Green Party MP in Stockton would bring new ideas, focus on making meaningful change, and put their genuine community interests at the heart of the work they complete.

People often tell us that they have lost faith in current politics. Greens propose solutions which are fair to people, are based on the best available evidence, and will be kind to the planet where we live. The Green Party wants to see improvements in services such as public transport, energy, water and healthcare - and believes these should be in the public’s hands (not privately owned for the purposes of making a profit). Everyone has the right to clean air and a warm home, as well as lifelong access to education, and a government that takes meaningful action on the climate crisis.

Sam has grown up and lives in Stockton-on-Tees where he also works in a local supermarket. He says "as a young person I hope to be able to engage with an important demographic that is often overlooked in politics. Young people will inevitably face the most consequences of climate change”. The Green Party is gaining momentum throughout the North East where we now have 19 councillors elected, and hope to stand a candidate in every single constituency at the next General Election.

Please consider donating to help us raise the £500 deposit needed for Sam to stand. Additional funds will go towards his campaign.

Thank you for your support.

We are required to run electoral register checks for people making donations above £500, and if you donate over £1,500 during a year, we are required to let the Electoral Commission know who will make this available on their website. All donations go to general Green Party funds.
