Aim

Salle Holyrood Fencing Club is ready to move to its own premises. Help us to make our new place the best place to thrive and grow.

Who are we?

The club was started in 2011 by highly respected coaches Sean Walton and Keith Cook as a pathway for young fencers moving on from plastic fencing. Their vision was to provide an environment and structure which bolstered confidence, encouraged healthy and physically active lives and developed participants skills for life, not just for fencing.

The club is now one of the largest and most successful clubs in Scotland, creating an environment of fun, development and learning for all our members. Whilst the club has a high proportion of junior fencers, it currently has members aged 8-68 competing at junior, senior and veterans level alongside participants simply enjoying learning a new skill and making new friends. The club has produced numerous Scottish and British champions, Scottish and British squad and team members, won Commonwealth and International medals and produced positive energy, lasting friendships and unforgettable memories within the club.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Salle Holyrood is negotiating on premises in Leith, Edinburgh – it will be a space that we can turn into a permanent, dedicated fencing Salle. But it’s not cheap! We need to cover legal costs and other fees, as well as fit-out costs.

With your help, we can make it happen.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Fit out costs on our new premises - flooring, metal pistes, scoring equipment, decoration and storage.

Community impact

This space will give our members an even better environment in which to train, the local community will have new opportunities to learn skills for life through sport and it will benefit the wider fencing community with another dedicated fencing space in Scotland.
