Hi, I’m Danielle and I’ve lived in Salford my whole life from West to East. Completely voluntary, I created Salford Litter Heroes as I thought more needed to be done to tackle litter in Salford. As council budgets are shrinking, there is an increased need for volunteers to both collect litter and report litter issues. Together we can make Salford a cleaner, greener and safer environment. Please feel free to message the group if you have any questions, concerns or want to join in! We couldn’t do it without all of our amazing volunteers! But we also need equipment! Salford City Council provides most equipment we need, but signage, better educational resources and litter picking specific equipment is needed to maximise our success. For example, we will purchase water proof signs, bag hoops, dog poops bags, brush and shovel (for dog poo and glass), different types of litter pickers to meet peoples disability/abilities, extra long litter pickers and branded hi-vis. Sometimes postage costs are needed to safely send resources to volunteers and to MP's/organisations/businesses we want to encourage to make a change! The more people know we aren't giving up on making change, the more of an impact we will have on litter.
