We need your help to continue running our community radio station.  Please read on and join us!

Because without your help this station will close -  because we no longer have sufficient  grant-funding to keep the station going.

Our volunteers work very hard; we have some advertising revenue and even a little sponsorship; but in spite of all that effort, we still need your help to keep our celebrated station going.

OUR VOICE IN THE COMMUNITY

Communication is often described as a skill, a talent for getting your message across and influencing change.

For the volunteers at Saford City Radio it's the medium of radio that literally keeps them communicating, switched on and "On Air ".

We want to maintain this voice in our community and make a full contribution in helping to change and improve people's lives.

But Salford City Radio will need your help if we are to continue to broadcast and manage our passion in the future.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

This year we are celebrating 10 years of succesful and nationaly-recognised local broadcasting - culminating in being awarded the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2016. But we are running out of funds to renew our Ofcom licence and replace our worn-out studio equipment.

We want to continue to serve and expand in our local community providing training, learning and development opportunities, and a wide range of volunteering roles. The station has already supported over 400 residents as they explore and develop careers in the media and other industries.

WHAT YOUR MONEY WOULD BE USED FOR

• Pay annual broadcast licence fees 
• Replace studio equipment and computers
• Run training courses
• Provide opportunities for everyone in the city.

The reality is that in common with other community enterprises it is increasingly difficult to find and keep funding. Our partners provide great support but we need cash to keep going.

We are seeking to raise funds alongside contributions from our 83 members, commercial supporters and the invaluable in-kind backing from Salford City Council.

COMMUNITY RADIO REALLY WORKS

Community radio works in our city. We have a wonderfully diverse population and an exceptional cultural output. Salford City Radio as a community led and community serving resource is an ideal mix which embraces the city's culture and diversity.

Our volunteers are fully committed to ensuring we remain on air.
