Cook for Good is an award-winning social enterprise that brings businesses and communities together through food.
We’re tackling food insecurity, social isolation, health inequality and barriers to work on a social housing estate in Kings Cross, through a fantastic community food and cooking programme.
Now we're launching Salads for Good, a book of recipes and stories, to raise funds so we can help more people move out of food insecurity and into work. All the profits from the book will be invested into this work.

In the past four years, we’ve been working to tackle food insecurity and its underlying causes through:
Now we’re looking to support our community members even further, by offering deeper, more structured support to help them move into work. Pledging to pre-order one or more copies of Salads for Good will help us bring these plans to life.

We are based in Islington, one of London’s most deprived areas. We know our residents want to access training and supported employment, but there just aren’t many options available. Additionally, we know that not having a job has a negative impact on other social issues including food insecurity, social isolation and health inequality. So we’re raising funds to open doors to work for our community – and every pledge we receive will help make this happen.

We are launching our second cookbook, Salads for Good, to raise funds to tackle the barriers to work that are holding our community back.
It will be available from October, but it’s never too early to start planning festive thankyous for clients and employees or to buy this gift for friends and family. And if you make your pledge NOW, we’ll get £50 for every £25 you give, due to match funding available from BA Communities Fund.
Please help us raise the funds we need by pledging to pre-order one or more copies of Salads for Good.

Salads for Good is a beautifully produced and photographed book that celebrates one of Cook for Good’s core missions: inspiring people to cook intuitively, joyfully, and in ways that genuinely support their health and wellbeing.

Championing our view that that healthy doesn’t have to mean dull – and that salads have a place on the table all year round – this gorgeous hardback book includes 52 nourishing, affordable and endlessly adaptable salads, along with 21 toppings, dressings and dips to help them pack a punch.
The book includes donated recipes from Jamie Oliver, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Claudia Winkleman, and members of our community. Alongside the recipes are moving stories of much-loved characters from the Priory Green estate, who speak about their connections with food, the power of communal cooking, and how eating healthily has changed their lives.

The funds we raise from Salads for Good will allow us to go deeper with our community, providing affordable food, meaningful connection, better health and pathways into employment.
As part of this work, we will launch a structured training programme which will give 80 local people the skills, training and experience they need to find and keep paid jobs, including:
We’ve got sponsorship in place from our culinary and corporate partners to fund the cost of producing the book, so all the profits from every single copy will help us tackle food insecurity and barriers to work.

With your support, we can help more people find meaningful work and live healthier, happier lives. Please pledge your support today and be part of the Cook for Good story.
