The money will be used to help pay the increased rental costs of the building along with all the increased costs of providing food and take away meals.
If we raise sufficient funds we would be able to employ someone to help develop the project further.
SaSh kitchen provides a hot meal and a bag of groceries every Wednesday to those in need in Hyson Green. We are a joint Muslim and Jewish led group and have been operating every week since 2015 ( apart from 5 months during first covid lockdown).
The need is growing as the cost of living crisis hits people hard, and so the number of people attending each week is rising. We now provide 140+ hot meals every week. Many different people come to SaSh with a variety of needs and circumstances including families and individuals struggling with food poverty/cost of living crisis, people with mental health and substance misuse issues, refugees/asylum seekers and recent immigrants.
Almost all the food we cook/give out is supermarket surplus, so we are also reducing food waste. Our chef makes tasty nutritious meals out of food that would others have been thrown away.

Our costs have risen hugely and we now need more donations to continue to operate, so that we can help those most in need. Our project often offers the only hot food some people eat all week and is an important source of groceries to keep families and individuals going in these extremely difficult times.
The project is operated by our fantastic volunteers who help each week.
