Aim

We want to create as many safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ people across Northumbria as possible. #SafeSpacesNorthumbria will allow this to happen.

Who are we?

Northumberland Pride is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual Plus (LGBTQIA+) charity that supports our communities to thrive. We do this in three ways, community and youth work, training and development and events. 

Community impact

Since 2017, we have delivered numerous events and projects that support LGBTQIA+ people to thrive. We elevate their voices and support them when they need it most. We bring LGBTQIA+ people and allies together in places that they feel safe and we'll do this across Northumbria, so anyone anywhere can access our support.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We want to create as many safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ people to come together across Northumbria as possible. #SafeSpacesNorthumbria will allow us to create groups for LGBTQIA+ people to come together in places they feel safe,to thrive together. We receive funding to deliver some groups across our area however we can be even more impactful if we have more resources to make this happen and crowdfunding is a new way for us to do this.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Any funding raised will support the direct delivery of these groups. This will include staff wages, room hire, activity costs marketing and travel costs. It could also include additional costs to ensure individuals can access groups regardless of their circumstances, which we call equitable access.
