Aim

Our mission is to help the construction industry create a safer working environment for all.

My name is Jamie skinner and after years of working in the construction industry I have always noticed the same health and safety issue, which is the relationship between the trades and the onsite fork lift. We are told to avoid all heavy plant machinery apart from the fork lift. Every day each trade needs to communicate with the forklift driver multiple times in order to get their materials and complete their work. These machines are massive and have limited visual for the driver, but all the trades approach it to get their lifts, posing a risk to themselves and prosecution for the driver. 9% of the uk population work in the industry, thats 3.1 million people who face this challenge every day.

I have designed a prototype to allow the trades to log their lifts via a mobile app, removing the need to go near these machines. I believe we can save lives and make the workplace more efficient through this simple change. The byproduct of trades logging lifts is usable data. Through this new insight we can track material consumption, enabling us to tackle lost materials and theft which cost the construction industry nearly a billon pounds every year.

Your help will change an industry from old fashioned and unsafe, to one that people can trust to keep them safe, take responsibility for environmental damage through material and assist in meeting the housing shortage by improving efficiency.

What We Need 

We already have our prototype and a clear vision on how to achieve our goals. We require £50,000 to finish the app development and launch this to the construction industry. This includes the app development, which is a large part of the budget but also the implementation costs and any infrastructure required to get the product up and running.

We are unique, there are no companies offering a resolution to this heath and safety issue or utilising this data type to accurately track materials. You would be revolutionising an industry in desperate need of modernisation.

If we do not reach our entire goal, we will move the project forward as far as the budget allows us to, before seeking further investment when required

The Impact

We believe the uptake of our product will save lives, make construction more efficient and save companies money through material loss. All these points are massive in their own way but saving lives of those who already work in an industry with high accident/ death toll is our main objective. Our team has over 16 years experience of working as a trade on site, and every element of our product has been built and grown from experience. We know how the industry works and we know what our product can do for those working within it. We have also built a strong network of connections that we will utilise along the way.

Through transparency, teamwork and expert knowledge, we will work tirelessly to overcome any hurdles we face. We are passionate about transforming the industry in a meaningful way and making it a safer working environment for all.
