Bringing safe anaesthesia & surgery to rural Mongolia

I'm pleased to announce that we've received a further £6,500 from a wonderful organisation Future Crunch  - see announcement on their website -  that, within a larger and v exciting agenda combatting 'technical disruption', donates 'small' amounts of money (in turn donated by its patrons) to tech and science 'charities, nonprofits and individuals working below the radar'.     SafeAnaesthesiaMongolia is 'right up our street', they say.  

This donation has paid for two more mobile Diamedica anaesthesia machines and these are now in transit to Ulaanbaatar.   That brings the total to six: with two machines donated by SafeAnaesthesiaWorldWide and a further two machines paid for by your generous donations.

As you'll see on the website, leading anaesthetist,  Professor David Pescod explains that, along with Mongolian anaesthetists, he'll be taking the new machines to the Gobi desert over the next few weeks to train local doctors in safe surgery. In particular the aim is to treat severe burns sustained by one in three nomad children.  Senior Mongolian anaesthetist, Dr Ganbold Lundeg has emailed to express his gratitude for the donation.
