Bringing safe anaesthesia & surgery to rural Mongolia

It's been a tough eight weeks, too much happening and too little time to get the message about Safe Anaesthesia Mongolia in front of enough people.  But in many ways it's been a massive success.  The rate of people who've heard or read about SAM and then gone on to make a pledge is twice the average for Crowdfunder.  It's been a privilege to have so many amazing supporters including so many who have donated so generously  - and to be a conduit for this outpouring of support and good feeling for the people of rural Mongolia.     It's also been great to work with  my local supporters including Carlotta Fiocchi, project manager, Laura Antonini, video editor, Paula Keogh voiceover, Jess Wade for brilliant suggestions and Celine Castelino who has tweeted above the call of duty!    And I've learnt a bit about social media and about fundraising.  This aint the end of the story.  We're close to raising enough funds for two anaesthesia machines which could change the lives of 40,000 or more people in the Mongolian countryside.    We'll carry on now working with the amazing Safe Anaesthesia WorldWide charity to raise further funds through The Big Give.    We're hoping to make a third video of footage of local doctors in the Mongolian countryside talking about their experience of emergency surgery cases and how anaesthesia machines can make such dramatic changes for the better.  And I'm hoping we'll be back later this year to carry on fund-raising through Crowdfunder.  With thanks to our wonderful supporters many of whom I know already donate their time and expertise.   Jane F.
