Help us develop our enterprise into a state of the art training school and artisan coffee house, where we can train and employ more people
If you know Sacred Bean Coffee, you'll know that we are passionate
about two things - helping people who are overcoming life-controlling issues or with barriers to employment, such as those with addictions or a history of homelessness, and fantastic coffee.
We started small - very small - but now due to amazing people like you who believed in our vision and drink our coffee, and with the help of our past trainees and volunteers, and two of our current stalwart trainees, we've grown – infact we've grown so much that we are too big for our current home in Derby City Centre.
Fantastically, we've been blessed with a space in another building -
an out of use Church fairly nearby in Chester Green, where we
can be part of a vision to restore it and breathe new life into it, and turn it into a community space with the roastery at the back, and eventually with a cafe. In the new roastery we will be able to set up a proper Training School and spread out as we learn, roast and pack, and train more people, as we talk and journey together throught his crazy new world.
But we need stuff - and lots of it - because this is our opportunity
to get a bit more serious about what we are doing and to scale up and step up to help more people and to roast a heck of a lot more coffee, so we can keep you lovely people going,
So here's the thing, this crowdfunder is to get all the essentials
such as more coffee storage bins, a reliable laptop and some new
grinders, spare parts for our roaster and to be honest a few bits off
our wish list like some nice signs and Darren's bucket list item a
Moisture Density Analyser (so he stops going on about it) and towards a fancy new gas roaster which would be epic. We'll also be able to print our own labels for the bags if we get a label-making machine for example and
that sounds like great fun and a new skill.
So if you are able to, please continue to be part of our story in this
somewhat scary next step. By simply giving some money you’ll be placed into our prize draw and might evenwin a prize.
