The Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival takes place from Thursday 22 - Monday 26 August 2024 over the bank holiday weekend, featuring headline concerts, international artistes and a vast programme of  community music and educational events. As a not for profit organisation we rely on fundraising to enable us to bring our community programme to the festival.

Your support in helping us to raise £10,000 will go directly towards our subsidised community outdoor performance stage and music education programme.

Why Support?

✨ Diverse Programme: Your support ensures that our programming is a  blend of jazz and blues styles from around the world. We aim to showcase the richness of musical cultures, fostering an appreciation for the vast spectrum of talent that exists within the jazz and blues genres including Latin, Cuban, soul, roots, R&B and funk.

🌍 Inclusive Outreach: Our commitment extends beyond the stage, as we pledge to focus on hard-to-reach groups and communities. With your backing, we will implement targeted outreach initiatives, reaching those on low incomes and with specific needs. Through partnerships and tailored programs, we strive to break down barriers and make the magic of live music accessible to everyone.

🤝 Enabling Access: Music for All: Your support helps us to create an inclusive space where economic status or physical ability does not limit participation. By offering discounted tickets and outreach programmes, we aspire to bring joy and inspiration to those who may face barriers to attending cultural events.

🌈 Promoting Wellbeing: With your support, we will produce events that prioritize the wellbeing of our community. Through interactive workshops the festival becomes a source of joy, connection, and rejuvenation for all participants.

How Can You Make a Difference?

🎟️ Back Our Campaign: Your financial support ensures that the Rye Jazz and Blues Festival Community Programme continues to grow and evolve. Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to our goal of creating an inclusive music festival.

🔄 Spread the Word: Share our campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Together, we can amplify our message of inclusivity, making sure everyone knows they are welcome at the Rye Jazz and Blues Festival.

Background

  • Launched in 2012 the Rye International Jazz and Blues Festival celebrates its 12th year in 2024.
  • The festival is attended by over 10,000 visitors from across the South East.
  • We are a boutique high-quality and diverse music festival and our programme includes ticketed headline concerts in the intimate setting of St Mary's Parish church, with acclaimed and respected artistes from the world of jazz and blues such as Mica Paris, Emeli Sande, Sergio Mendes, Jose Feliciano, Ian Shaw, Mud Morganfield, Curtis Stigers, Beverley Knight, Imelda May, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, and many many more.
  • Our outdoor community performance stage showcases amazing regional musicians performing the coolest jazz, swing, blues, RnB, Latin, funk, soul, and Cuban music over four days with an eclectic and diverse range of quality music.
  • We also present an array of exceptional free music at fringe venues in the town, at pubs and cafes. The atmosphere in the town during the festival is electric and is enjoyed my so many from the local community and further afield.
  • Accessible and inspiring workshops are a key part of every year’s jazz festival – providing a wide range of learning activities and events led by the finest professional musicians and educators.
  • Street music and marching bands: bring a New Orleans vibe to the streets of Rye, with colour, vibrancy and fun.
  • Our vision is to continue to bring wellbeing through the power of music; an artistic programme of quality, diversity and inclusivity that will engage the wider communities of not only Rye but also the county and beyond;  enhancing tourism and providing economic and cultural benefits to the region.
