Aim: Help prepare children from asylum seeking families to prepare for the first term in a new school.
At the start of the new school year, there are children who will be getting used to a new town, going to a new school setting, trying to make new friends and maybe even learning a new language. Help us kit them out with what they need to feel part of their new school community from day one. Families in asylum hotels are on a fixed low income of £8.86 per week per person so unable to buy their own. Anything you can contribute would be much appreciated.
In the next couple of weeks, we will be collecting donations of local school uniforms and pre-loved good quality backpacks. £20 would allow us to also buy a child a new pair of school shoes, new socks and a new pencil case and stationary set.
