Aim

Our aim is to promote muay thai boxing to people from all walks of life to relieve stress, build confidence, promote mental heath awarenes.


Russell's Muay Thai are a sports club for the community want to promote Muay Thai boxing to both kids, teenagers and adults to build confidence, improve mental health, promote fitness and discipline.

Our vision is provide a fitness and martial arts service to our community, by developing people to achieve a new level of fitness, undertake grading, compete competitively if our members decide to and host events. Whilst promoting mental health awareness through our own personal previous experiences and help raising funds for mental health charities. We also want expand our classes to cover not only evening but daytime classes too. 

Funding expenditure.

We will use any funding to buy new equipment, help fund any additional coaches, spend it on gym maintenance and repairs. Improve facilities to make our member safer when training by investing in wall pads and new floor matts. 

About our coach

Russells Muay Thai was established by Gareth Russell with the aim of passing down his skills, techniques and knowledge. Gareth has many years of experience in and out of the ring, achieving many personal goals including fighting at the highest British standards and becoming a successful coach.

Our success story

Barry has been with me since he left prison in 2011 and has gone from strength to strength. He's had over 20 semi contact bouts and over 5 full contact competitions, where he's travelled the country and embraced the sport of Muay Thai.

Since joining the club and focussing his energy in a positive way Barry has got a job, become disciplined, his outlook on life has become more positive and he has got into college. Barry states that ''Thai boxing has changed my life, I have not reoffended.
