To deliver an inter-generational and multicultural introduction to boxing programme

Background to Erne Boxing Club
Erne Boxing Club is a community-based amateur boxing club serving the Erne region and surrounding areas. Established to provide a safe, disciplined, and inclusive environment for young people and adults, the club promotes the values of respect, commitment, and personal development through the sport of boxing.
The club operates under the principles of amateur boxing, with a strong emphasis on coaching standards, athlete welfare, and long-term development rather than short-term success. Training programmes are designed to cater for all abilities, from beginners with no prior experience to competitive boxers preparing for sanctioned competition.
Beyond boxing skills, Erne Boxing Club plays an important social role within the local community. It offers structured activity, positive role models, and a supportive setting that encourages physical fitness, mental resilience, and self-confidence. The club works to ensure accessibility for all members, regardless of background, and actively promotes positive lifestyles, discipline, and teamwork.
Through dedicated volunteer coaches and ongoing engagement with local partners, Erne Boxing Club continues to contribute to the health, wellbeing, and personal growth of its members while strengthening community ties in the Erne area.

1. Increased Social Inclusion and Belonging
The programme will create a welcoming space where newcomer families and local residents can meet, build relationships, and participate together, reducing isolation and strengthening community connections.
2. Improved Wellbeing and Resilience
Regular physical activity combined with emotional support and nutrition education will improve physical health, mental wellbeing, and resilience. Participants will gain confidence, reduce stress, and adopt healthier lifestyle habits.
3. Stronger Community Cohesion
Shared activity will foster mutual understanding and respect across cultural groups. Intergenerational participation will strengthen community bonds and support positive relationships between age groups.
4. Reduced Barriers to Participation
Free sessions, equipment provision, and subsidised transport will remove key barriers that prevent newcomer families from accessing community activities, promoting equality of opportunity.
5. Enhanced Pathways to Ongoing Engagement
The pathways facilitator will support participants to transition into other sports, youth services, and community programmes, creating long-term connections and sustained participation.
6. Development of Local Capacity
The programme will build local capacity through the involvement of qualified coaches, dieticians, and emotional support facilitators, while strengthening partnerships with schools, youth services, and community organisations.
7. Positive Role Models and Youth Development
Participants will benefit from structured coaching, mentorship, and positive adult role models, supporting discipline, teamwork, and personal development, contributing to safer and more supportive community environments.
