I’m taking on two half marathons 🏃‍♂️

🏃‍♂️ In 2027, I’m running two half marathons for Military vs Cancer! I hate running, so please sponsor my madness—every donation helps! ❤️

For those who know Ali, you’ll know she was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago. We’re now into year three of a five-year treatment plan, and, as anyone who has been through cancer will know, there have been plenty of highs, plenty of lows, and everything in between.

So, we wanted to do something positive and give something back.

With mine and Alison’s military backgrounds, we wanted to find a charity that brought the two together. Ali found what we believe is the perfect fit for us — Military vs Cancer — a charity that does some incredible work supporting people and families affected by cancer.

So naturally, I thought the best way to support them would be to do something I absolutely LOVE…

…running. 🤦‍♂️😂

Actually, that’s a complete lie.

I HATE RUNNING.

I mean REALLY hate it.

Give me 100 metres on a rugby pitch and I’m happy. Anything beyond that and I start questioning all my life choices. 😂

But, for some reason that seemed to escape me at the time, I’ve only gone and secured places in The Great Manchester Half Marathon in May AND The Great North Run in September next year! 🏃‍♂️💨

Yes… TWO of them.

I’m not entirely sure what I was thinking. I may have been temporarily possessed. 🤦‍♂️😂

But I wanted to do something that would genuinely challenge me, push me completely out of my comfort zone and, most importantly, raise money for a charity that means a lot to Alison and me.

So now the hard work starts — training, running, sweating, complaining, probably swearing… and wondering why I didn’t just do a sponsored walk instead. 😂
