Lee Martin is fundraising for Ronald Mcdonald House Bristol Charity No. 1091342
I am raising money for Ronald McDonald House in Bristol. They enabled our family to stay near to our little boy Ray until he died.

Completed
Good morning and I hope everyone had a good weekend. Just a little update. Yesterday I completed the half marathon at Scorrier house and today my left knee won't bend however it was so worth it. We have raised £4520 to donate to Ronald McDonald House in Bristol in Rays name which is just fantastic and is thanks to all of you donating and raising awareness. The money will help provide accommodation for the parents and families of sick children in the hospital near by which is such a valuable resource during what are the most stressful of times for parents. They certainly supported us well and gave us that valuable time as a family with Ray before he sadly died.
Many thanks to you all !
1 week to go
So we have one week left to go until the big run. I must say parts of me are dreading it and I'm not as fit as I want to be but I will get around the course running, walking or crawling. I want to thank each and everyone of you so far for your support and generosity. We have just breached the £4k mark which is incredible. If anyone has the chance to share the link/story on facebook, Instagram, twitter or other social media for a final push that would be amazing.
I will be running this time next week but will post an update when I've finished the run.
Thanks,
Lee, Steph and Elijah xxx
Nearly at 4k
Just a quick update to express our gratitude for everyone's continued support.
Incredibly we are nearly at £4000 pounds now with a few months to go until the race so thankyou to everyone who has contributed or spread the word.
Thanks also to my cousin Caroline who completed a half marathon and sent donations our way which was very much appreciated.
Training has been going pretty well and I'm nearly up to the half way point now, I'm hoping the added pressure as the race gets closer will spur me on even more.
Take care everyone!
Continued Thanks
We all just wanted to say thanks for everyone's continued generosity towards our run in memory of Ray. We are nearly at £3000 pounds now which was unthinkable when we started! A big thanks to Rob Delaney also who's retweet brought in a large influx of donations.
If anyone wants to understand what it is like having a seriously ill child, losing a child or indeed how to support a family going through this I can thoroughly recommend Rob Delaney's book 'A Heart that Works.'
Our training has just began again today after we were wiped out by a virus for a couple of weeks. It felt really good to get moving again.

Happy Weekend
Just a quick email to say thank you to everyone who has donated, shared or sent kind words.
I feel a mention for family, friends, Porthleveners, work colleagues, the Scunthorpe united family and anyone else who has played a part so far is needed. We are eternally grateful for your help in keeping Rays name alive and turning his death into something positive.
Steph and myself will complete our third training session on Sunday for the half marathon. There is still a long way to go but I'm sure we will get there.
Today I was interviewed by Julie Scantlebury on BBC Radio Cornwall. It's been a long time since I've been interviewed for anything on the radio and its never been about anything other than music so it was quite overwhelming to talk about something so painful but on listening back I feel I got the point across.
We are able to keep the crowd funder open until after the race now in August so please feel free to share links to the page on social media from time to time.
Have a great weekend,
Lee, Steph, Elijah and Ray xxxx
We've hit the target!
Just a quick update. As of midnight last night we have hit and surpassed our target. Thank you to all of you incredibly generous people. We will continue to keep donations open as we have some more media coverage in the coming days then the hard work (training) begins next week.
Thanks,
Lee, Steph and Elijah xxx
So far So Good
Just a quick thanks for all of your incredibly generous donations so far. We are fast approaching the target of £1000 pounds and when the rain dies down Steph and myself will begin re-training our bodies for the half marathon distance and post regular updates here.
Much love,
Lee, Steph, Elijah xxx
I am raising money for a charitable cause that is very important to me so please donate and help me reach my target in aid of Ronald McDonald House in Bristol. Anything you can contribute towards helping me achieve my target will be massively appreciated. I will be running a half marathon on Sunday the 18th of August 2024 in memory of my son Ray who sadly passed away at 7 weeks old in Bristol children's hospital. Ray was born with complex heart conditions and was doing very well until his life was taken by unknown complications. Ronald McDonald House in Bristol provided us with accommodation during this time and enabled Ray to spend time with his family and older brother during his short life which we are eternally gratefully for.
Unfortunately there are many people just beginning on the journey of long hospital stays with poorly children and those that have endured this for a long time. Ronald McDonald house needs all the support it can get to continue to provided housing and support to families during theirs time of need.
Thank you.
Lee, Steph, Elijah and Ray xxxx
