Aisling, Phil And Cate is fundraising for
Mums In Need
Charity No. 1177170

Phil, Cate and I are running the Manchester half marathon in October to raise funds for a Sheffield based domestic abuse charity.
Mums In Need is a unique support service in Sheffield for mothers suffering ongoing coercive control and narcissistic abuse after separation from an abusive partner.
Domestic abuse is always underpinned by intimate terrorism, the emotional and psychological elements of coercive control which shatter lives. Violence is just one piece of the jigsaw that makes up a complex pattern of abuse; it is the visible tip of the iceberg. Mums In Need recognises that what happens beyond physical violence is largely unseen by other services, with many victims falling through the cracks.
There are many organisations which help support escape from domestic abuse, but escape is not the end of the story. An escalation in relentless emotional and psychological abuse is common post-separation, and is often sustained through shared-care with children. Many mothers are left struggling to find the understanding and resources to cope with ongoing, often invisible abuse. This can be a lonely and desperate situation which impacts on work-life, on other relationships, on motherhood and on physical/mental health.
We wanted to raise funds for a local charity and, knowing the increase in cases of domestic violence during the pandemic and being inspired by the unique service Mums in Need offers, we would love for you to sponsor us to raise our goal of £1000.
We understand money is tight for a lot of people at the moment, but every penny really will make such a huge difference for the women they support.
