Runcorn Sea Cadets - New Headquarters
Runcorn, Halton, United Kingdom
Aim
To establish a permanent, adaptable, long term home for Runcorn Sea Cadets that can also be used by the local community.
Runcorn Sea Cadets has been delivering high quality, volunteer led training to young people since 1925. Our goal is simple, to launch every young person for life - through instilling the core values of the Royal Navy.
Respect: “To be inclusive, appreciate others and considerate of all.”
Loyalty: “To be faithful to those who value and support me.”
Self-Discipline: “To do my best and do what I must.”
Commitment: “To do what I say I will.”
Honesty & Integrity: “To tell the truth and be a good person.”
Courage: “To do what I know is right.”
We achieve this through various training routes. The self discipline to stand still on parade, or the loyalty and commitment to turn up every week, or the courage to try something new - all give young people soft skills that propel them forward into future life.
Sadly, in 2025, we lost access to our regular parading HQ. The units management team has worked hard since, and with the support of Halton Borough Council, we have identified a new to us, permanent long term home for Runcorn Sea Cadets.
Something we haven't had since our Mersey Road HQ sadly burnt down in the late 1990's.
This campaign is hoped to help raise the required funds we need, to make the new HQ the best possible training space for our young people and to enable us to move in as soon as possible.
We are fundraising to purchase:
Decorating materials and equipment; Paint, noticeboards, rollers, brushes etc.
Security materials; Window bars, CCTV cameras and alarm upgrades.
Classroom equipment; Folding tables and chairs
Branding and Signage; Fence banners, Wall signage, interior signs
