Who are we?

Greetings from Rugeley Rugby Club! We are a dedicated and passionate group of rugby enthusiasts who believe in the power of sports to bring communities together. Our club has been a staple in Rugeley for decades, fostering talent, camaraderie, and a love for the game.

Why are we crowdfunding?

The setting sun should never dim the spirit of rugby! Our club has been a proud institution in Rugeley for many years, and we've always believed in nurturing talent and fostering a love for the game. Over time, our club has seen remarkable growth, especially with the introduction of junior teams and our inaugural women's team this year.

As our family of rugby enthusiasts continues to grow, so does the need for adequate training facilities. The truth is, the cost of renting the local leisure center's 5G pitch for all of our teams, especially the juniors and women, is becoming prohibitively expensive. These teams represent the future of our club, and we are determined to provide them with the best resources to develop their skills and passion for rugby.

Your contributions will directly impact the development of our junior teams, the continuous success of our men's team and empower our women's team, ensuring they have access to well-lit training facilities right here at our rugby ground.

By installing temporary floodlights, we can offer more flexible training schedules and accommodate all of our teams without the burden of costly rentals. How we’ll spend the money raised

Our mission is simple but impactful: we want to install temporary floodlights at our rugby ground. With your generous contributions, we will:

• Purchase high-quality temporary floodlights that can withstand the elements of winter.
• Hire professional electricians to safely and efficiently install the floodlights.
• Cover ongoing maintenance costs to ensure the lights continue to shine brightly season after season.

By achieving this goal, we will no longer have to pay exorbitant fees to train at external facilities, allowing us to allocate our resources where they truly matter - nurturing local rugby talent and fostering a sense of belonging within our community.
