To see a post pandemic 'Rugby Revival' for students across QUB in all areas, playing, volunteering and coaching .
Queens University Belfast RFC is the oldest rugby club in Northern Ireland and the second oldest in Ireland, 150 years old and still going!! We have produced some of Ireland greatest players such as Jack Kyle, Blair Mayne, Tommy Bowe, Claire McClaughlin and most recently Iain Henderson (Here his QUB Story Below), we have 4 adult men's team , 2 women's teams and a newly formed Under 20 team.

Like all clubs the global pandemic has greatly affected us, as our club is reliant on schoolboys and schoolgirls of all abilities joining us after they finish secondary school. However with covid and no school sport for a year, we have noticed a big drop in membership, drop in volunteers, drop in sponsorship and income. Our crowd funding project aims to address the drop in playing numbers by starting a rugby revival progamme.
We want to offer coaching for those school leavers who have not had much rugby in 18 months- tailored to their ability.
2. We want to offer them competitive matches against players of a similar age and ability at a time that is convenient to young people
3. We want to offer them the opportunity to meet young people of a similar age through rugby and help them get fit and healthy and enjoy the social aspect of the sport.
4. Its a 7 month programme starting in October running through to April.
Through your support we will be able to cover our coaches fees, facility hire, equipment purchase and training up our student volunteers as coaches
