ROYAL SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS SOUTH LONDON BRANCH

RCN 276861, Croydon

RSPCA South London provides animal welfare services across the south London area. Our staff and volunteers work to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome the most vulnerable local animals. We also work with private vets to help pet owners in the local community with unexpected vet bills, or to help neuter their animals. As a small local charity, funded independently from the National RSPCA, your support is vital to allow us to continue our animal welfare work.

ROYAL SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS SOUTH LONDON BRANCH

In Autumn 2022 RSPCA South London made the big decision to employ our first ever Animal Welfare Officer. This was in response to the mounting animal welfare crisis we were seeing evolving around us. With the aftermath of the pandemic, and the cost of living crisis, we have seen the need for our services increase year on year.

With the addition of our new Animal Welfare Officer, we have been able to help so many more animals, and people in our local community. Our rehomed animal figures increased from 60 in 2022, to a whopping 121 animals in 2023! We are very proud of this achievement as we know how badly our services are needed now.

However all this comes at a huge cost to us as a charity. We don't have our own centre, or clinic, so rely on private boarding establishments and vets. We have rented an additional 6 boarding pens for 2024 in order for us to take in even more animals, but this will cost the branch over £26,000. This is in addition to vet bills and welfare vet work we do for owned animals.

We are a branch of the RSPCA but we are independent charity and therefore responsible for our own funding. If you can help us to keep making a difference to the lives of local animals, please donate what you can. It really does help us to help more vulnerable animals.

Thank you so much.
