Did you know that the RSPCA are celebrating their 200th anniversary this year? We want to honour all of the hard work over the last 200 years by continuing to improve the lives of animals and growing our branch to help even more wildlife and pets in need.
Not many people know that each branch is a separately registered charity, meaning we need to raise all of our own money and all of the money we raise is spent in our community.
We are currently recruiting a Community Animal Welfare Officer, who will work proactively in our community to help animals.
We are very proud of the work we do and we spent over £16,000 in January alone on animal welfare. We have been overwhelmed with need for the work we do every day, and our solution is to recruit a dedicated person to deal with this need, so we always have someone on hand to help animals and their owners.
This is an exciting move for us, enabling us to expand on the vital work we are already doing and extend our reach even further into the community. And whilst we are so excited about this development, we also have to consider the associated costs.
We will need to equip our new recruit with all of the equipment necessary to perform the role. The largest item on the list is a van to allow us to visit animals and their owners in need, raise awareness in the community, and most importantly to transport poorly animals to the vet or animal centres for their safety and care.
We need to raise £15,000 to buy a suitable van for our new Community Animal Welfare Officer and would be so grateful for any help you can offer.
