With our overheads reaching an all time high and energy prices being the highest, we now need to introduce solar panels at our Head Office.
The RSPCA Mid Norfolk and North Suffolk Branch has been operating in our region for 60 years as an independent Branch of the RSPCA. We operate autonomously to the national RSPCA (England and Wales) and are responsible for our own means of fundraising and generating income. Our Branch covers a vast geographical scope, delivering high-quality animal welfare across an impressive 2,500 square miles – from the North Norfolk coast, across Norwich city centre, down to Southwold and across to Thetford. We provide the community with a lost and found scheme, a rescuing, rehoming and fostering service, subsided vet fees, a TNR (trap-neuter-return) scheme, micro-chipping clinics, financial aid, pet food banks and much more.
We are made up of 30 staff members and 150 volunteers, who are committed to combating and preventing cruelty to animals and creating a better place for our community – animals and people. With the current cost of living crisis we are experiencing a huge strain on our services, our vet bills totalled over £162,000 last year and we want to help more! To reduce our overheads, we`d like to introduce solar panels at our headquarters in Ashwellthorpe. We are in a rural location and can experience issues with power shortages which affects our phone lines, so with solar panels we will be more independent, contactable and it`ll make a huge saving on our current energy bills!
