RSPCA Isle of Wight Branch

RCN 205311, Ventnor

The RSPCA Isle of Wight Branch is a separately registered Island based charity and is one of 164 charities that support the local work of the RSPCA. Originally established in 1950 we support the Islands most vulnerable animals. We provide care and assistance to the animals on the Isle of Wight that require our help. Our service supports professional animal rescue, providing veterinary care, rehabilitation and rehoming or release to the wild. We also promote responsible animal ownership through local educational campaigns.

RSPCA Isle of Wight Branch

As an independently registered charity, we rely on the generosity of our community to support our animal welfare work. Our branch is responsible for providing care and assistance to the animals on the Isle of Wight that require help. Our service supports professional animal rescue, providing veterinary care, rehabilitation and rehoming or releasing to the wild.

Due to the various issues our economy has faced with the Coronavirus Pandemic and the Cost of Living Crisis, we have seen an increase in animals entering our care. They are coming to us for various reasons ranging from their owners mental health deteriorating, living situations changing, not being able to afford vet bills, relationships breaking up and so on. We have seen a huge influx of animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and rats - all entering shelters through no fault of their own.

Donations enable us to maintain and advance our animals centre’s important work to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals that have been abused or neglected. Our work involves a huge amount of time, dedication and equipment which with the inspiring support of donations and legacies, it helps us to make an impact and aids our commitment to protecting animals for future generations to come.

With the help of our community, we are hoping to be able to focus on our next projects which include upgrading the dog kennels that are in need of modernisation. To create a dog paddock for hire so that not only can our animal behaviourist use it for exercising and training the dogs in our care but also to allow our fosters, adopters and community to use to ensure the safety of their pets and themselves - whilst generating an income for our Animal Centre. We would also like to broaden our licensing, to enable us to expand and care for more wildlife species. And we are hoping to combat the constant rising fuel costs and plan to become more energy efficient so we can keep our facilities running to their full potential for longer.

For many people, raising money for a charity and donating, gives them a sense of purpose and fulfilment, helping others and causes that are close to their hearts. No matter the size of donation it all has a huge impact and makes a difference.

Thank you for choosing the RSPCA Isle of Wight. Your support, kindness and generosity are what keep us going and allow us to rescue and rehome as many animals as we possibly can!
