Aim

We're climbing the height of Everest in one day to raise funds for the Bristol Refugees Rock group.

To climb the equivalent of Mount Everest in one day.

Climbers getting together to climb 8,849m high in one day at the The Climbing Academy (TCA), Mothership, Bristol.

TCA's walls are approximately 4m high so we'll need to complete a minimum of 2,212 climbs between us all!

Maybe we can climb higher than Everest... with a little help from our friends?

The core team would be tackling more than 200 climbs each! We'd love some help from the climbing community to reach our goal, and maybe even further...

Get involved! Drop by at any point between 9am-5pm and donate some climbs on our tally sheet. Or simply come along to support us, grab some refreshments, and learn more about Refugees Rock.

Where your money goes...

With The Climbing Academy providing the space for our sessions at no cost, donations will be sent directly to Refugees Rock Bristol to continue covering participants' travel expenses, ensuring completely free access to weekly climbing for refugees and asylum-seekers in Bristol. If we raise enough, we may even look to the outdoors to organise an trip or two...

Climbers:

Jeev:  I came here to drink milk and climb Everest, and I’ve just finished my milk.

Jim: Out of all the life lessons that climbing has taught me, the most important one is how to climb.

Anne: Anne is built for molehills but will attempt Bristol Everest anyway!

Ayham: He thinks life with no adventure is not tasty enough.

Haydn: I’m Haydn, give me a wall and I’ll climb it, Refugees really do Rock! 🤘

Joe: Climbing ambitions > Tendons

Maria: Short and feisty, fond of dinos but not dynos.

Boudica: A man of acrobatics and endurance. Some say the finest macaco flips in the West Country...

Alex: My mental health is dictated by plastic rocks

Lizzie: Scrappy but sleepy

Leo: I love climbing plastic blobs more than the integrity of my joints

Oliver: Not sure how I got ‘roped’ into this one

Levi

Usha: Not strong, just stubborn

Elliot: Climbing one-armed because of an injured shoulder…does that mean I can count my climbs twice?!
