This prize was generously donated to us by the General Manager for the purpose of raising money for a meaningful charity, as explained below.
In 2021 our close friend Andy McAslan was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma which is an incurable blood cancer. He underwent chemotherapy which thankfully worked. However the cancer is sadly incurable and can possibly return at any point in his life. The weight of this hanging over Andy has made living a normal life without anxiety and worry very difficult.
This is where Maggie's came in - a charity focused on providing support and therapy to those with cancer and their loved ones. Maggie's have supported Andy throughout his battle, but also help on a daily basis so many others struggling with cancer. They focus on the things that really make a difference, like money worries, help with stress and depression, managing side-effects and relationship/family support.
Maggie's support to our friend Andy throughout his treatment and coming to terms with the weight of living with an incurable disease has been immense, which is why we would like to support them.
Please do get involved and donate to such a great cause.
