Aim
Help us build an accessible equine therapy centre in Nottingham to transform lives of disabled and disadvantaged people.
Rowntree Equine Therapy is a community interest company based in Nottingham, dedicated to improving the lives of disabled and disadvantaged individuals through equine-assisted therapy. We aim to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where beneficiaries can experience the physical, psychological, and social benefits of working with horses. We are establishing a purpose-built, fully accessible equine therapy centre that will set a new benchmark for inclusivity and therapeutic equestrian practice in the UK. The centre will provide:
- A 10–12 stable yard, built to veterinary standards.
- An accessible riding arena, mounting block, and adaptive tack for riders with physical limitations.
- Indoor therapy and education rooms to deliver workshops, training, and complementary wellbeing activities.
There is a growing need in our community for safe, affordable, and inclusive spaces where disabled and vulnerable people can access equine therapy. Current provisions are limited, with long waiting lists and inadequate facilities for wheelchair users and people with complex needs.
Support from your donation, big or small, will enable us to move forward with critical infrastructure and equipment purchases, creating a facility capable of serving hundreds of individuals each year while reducing health inequalities and social isolation.
