Hi, I'm Rowan (they/them). I'm queer, non binary trans and disabled. I'm fundraising because my bank account mainly contains mothballs.

Why pay for top surgery?
I have been on the NHS waitlist for a long time and haven't yet had my first consultation, let alone approached surgery. To be honest, with the state of funding and the current anti-trans rhetoric in the UK I'm not holding my breath for anything to happen any time soon, and I need this soon.
Not only does my chest cause intense dysphoria, it also causes me pain. These both keep compounding each other. My disabilities and the weight of my chest means it always hurts, bra or no and I can only wear a binder occasionally.
Why so much money?
I have to go abroad for top surgery because of the limits placed on it in the UK. In Europe there's more opportunity for informed consent, and less restriction when it comes to BMI.
As such, I have to cover the following:
Will you be doing anything to raise funds?
I am aiming to provide some opportunities to receive something in return for donations as the fundraiser goes on. They will be posted here when available. Currently I have the honour of being a part of Ropeathon 2026 and receiving 50% of the funds raised through that event.
