Aim

Create inspiring learning spaces that nurture curiosity: giving every Ropley child the best environment to grow now and in the future.

It is with enormous pride we introduce you to Ropley Church of England Primary School. Ropley CE Primary School has been a cornerstone of village life for two centuries, shaping the childhoods of generations and providing a place where children are nurtured, challenged and inspired.

As we celebrate our 200th year, the Ropley 200 Legacy Fund looks firmly to the future. Its purpose is to help the school continue to grow and adapt so that every child benefits from an environment that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and wellbeing.

By supporting improvements to our learning spaces and the experiences we offer, the Legacy Fund strengthens what makes Ropley special whilst opening the door to new opportunities for the children who will follow.

Your contribution helps us build the next chapter of Ropley’s story.

Why the Legacy Fund matters

Across the country, school budgets are under growing strain - a pressure felt even more sharply by small village schools like ours. Core funding enables us to deliver the essentials of education, but it cannot always reach the enriching spaces, resources, and experiences that help children flourish beyond the basics.

The Ropley 200 Legacy Fund gives our community a way to strengthen the school for the long term. It supports opportunities that lift learning, spark creativity, and enhance wellbeing for today’s pupils, while helping ensure Ropley remains a vibrant, sustainable village school for the generations still to come.

Phase 1: 2026-2027

To refresh and enhance the external area outside the Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms. A purpose-built role play area will be installed, creating an engaging and imaginative space that supports creative and social learning opportunities for pupils. The existing surfacing will also be upgraded to a more visually appealing finish. This will not only improve the overall appearance of the space but also ensure it functions effectively as a purposeful learning environment tailored to the needs of Key Stage 1 pupils. Overall, these improvements will transform the space into an attractive, practical, and stimulating outdoor learning environment: one in which we can be proud of as a school and in the village.

Estimated cost: £18,400

Phase 2: 2027-2028

To re‑decorate and refresh the classrooms with new carpets, updated furniture, and brighter, more engaging learning spaces, ensuring that every child at Ropley benefits from an environment that is comfortable, inspiring, and designed to support their learning and wellbeing.

 Estimated costs:

>£28,000 to update the current twenty-year old plus flooring in the classrooms and learning spaces

>£7,400 to update the classroom tables from Year 1 to 6

>£6,800 to update the classroom chairs from EYFS to 6

>£7,500 for bookcases to improve classroom storage and permit more books in the library

>£550 for paint and decorating supplies

Total: £50,250

These projects represent the beginning of a broader ambition to enhance the school’s learning environment as the Legacy Fund continues to grow. They are the first steps in a long‑term plan to create spaces that better reflect the needs, aspirations, and wellbeing of Ropley’s children.

When you contribute to the Legacy Fund, you help create:

· Learning spaces that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence

· Environments that nurture children’s wellbeing and sense of belonging

· Opportunities and experiences that stay with pupils long after they leave Ropley

This work is about far more than buildings or facilities. It is about shaping the daily experiences that help children feel valued, motivated, and excited to learn.

The Legacy Fund gives our community the chance to shape the next chapter of Ropley’s story, ensuring that future generations benefit from the same care, ambition, and commitment that have defined the school for 200 years.

Whether you are an individual, a family, or a local business, the Ropley 200 Legacy Fund offers a meaningful way to support something that sits at the heart of our village.

Every donation, large or small, helps build something lasting: classrooms and learning spaces where children can grow, create, and thrive for generations to come. A portion of all contributions will be set aside to support the long‑term sustainability of the school.

Together, we can build a future worthy of the generations who came before - and the children who are here today.
