Since our first podcast in September 2023 we have published over 78 episodes – sometimes in rapid response to a crisis that the BBC has had to face - from the Lineker tweet, Richard Sharp’s untenable position as chair of the Corporation, to the Huw Edwards controversy – offering, (we hope) considered and reasoned analysis from some of the top broadcasters and players in public service broadcasting.
And we’ve also tried to keep a watchful eye on the broadcasting regulator Ofcom and its guardianship of impartiality .
Over these past 18 months we have offered a peak behind the scenes with Stephen Fry, Joan Bakewell, David Dimbleby, Melvyn Bragg, Peter Taylor, Simon McCoy, Ernie Rae, Nick Jones, and Simon Mayo to name but a few.
Former DG Tony Hall, Sir Mark Thompson, Andrew Neil, Michael Crick, Paul Hughes, Paul Mason, and Charles Moore are amongst those who have given their insights on all the key issues that all public service broadcasters have faced: impartiality, accountability and cuts to its services. We hope we have played a role in helping inform the debate on what we want from our public service broadcasters.
