Roehampton Cricket Club is an English Cricket Board (ECB) / Clubmark accredited
club and a registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC). We are a sporting hub in the local community and home to a growing juniors cricket section boasting over 300 girls and boys aged 2-15. Our cricket coaches are all accredited and play a key role in local children’s development through sport. The club works with several schools in the London boroughs of Wandsworth and Hammersmith & Fulham to deliver cricket and general sport coaching.
We have three Saturday League and two Sunday adult cricket teams, with over 60 senior playing members. Our 1st and 2nd XI compete in the Fullers Brewery Surrey County League, whilst the 3rd XI compete in the AJFordham Surrey Championship.
We strive to ‘connect communities and improve lives’ through cricket, increasing the relevance of cricket locally and growing long-term engagement with the game in these communities and are proud of the diverse range of backgrounds and ethnicities of our members and always welcome new members of all standards and abilities. Everyone that wants a game of cricket should get one!
Last year we began the steps to forming our first women's cricket team, with some free taster sessions, building on the growth of girl's cricket at the club. We hope to continue that work this year with our better facilities.

Whilst we were able to modify junior training sessions to be Covid compliant, the adult cricket season was significantly reduced and our clubhouse and bar were closed for most of 2020 and so far in 2021. This meant lost revenue due to reductions in membership subscriptions and takings over the bar, and being unable to hold our normal in and post season fundraising events such as the reverse lottery and annual club dinner.
While we've been fortunate to receive grants from the ECB and Wandsworth Council that have helped pay the bills, this hasn't made up for the loss of fundraising.
Last year the proceeds of our standard fundraising activities were earmarked to help improve some of the club's facilities in 2021. Due to the coronavirus situation, we were unable to run these activities and thus are short of the funds for vital projects needed to support the continued growth of the club.
New two-lane nets facility: The club now has planning permission for this project which will cost just over £40k. Whilst we will attempt to get other external funding, the club will be required to fund a significant portion of this through partnership funding. The majority of this crowdfunder will go towards partnership funding of the nets facility. The club intends to pledge £5k towards this crowdfunder.
Other projects: Replacement Sightscreens, additional equipment storage on the ground and our partnership facility fund will also benefit from funds raised in this crowdfunder as we approach our stretch target.
Please make a donation or "buy" any of our rewards on offer. Sport England have pledged 40% matched funding (£8k!) in order to help us bounce back from COVID-19 and continue the growth of the club - we just need to make sure we raise the rest from at least 100 people. With your help we can continue to ensure that Roehampton CC offers high quality cricket facilities to the community.
Thank you for your support! Max will be soooo happy not to have to put temporary nets up all the time!
