Robert Emmets New Rounders Team

Aim

Robert Emmets GAC is launching a new rounders programme, creating fun and inclusive opportunities for all ages and abilities.

Who are we?

Robert Emmets GAC is a community GAA club based in Cushendun.

Alongside our existing Gaelic games activities, we are introducing rounders as a new social activity within the club. The club is open to everyone, whether you’re experienced or trying it for the first time.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We're raising funds to help launch a new rounders initiative.

The project will run from September 2026 to March 2027, with rounders taking place primarily on Monday evenings on our floodlit top pitch. The initiative will provide weekly opportunities to take part in rounders, supported by equipment, coaching and social participation activities throughout the project period.

Rounders is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities, making it an ideal way to encourage greater participation in physical activity. We are particularly keen to increase participation among women and girls, while also welcoming men, young people and families from across the area.

The funding will help us purchase equipment and resources needed to establish the initiative and make rounders a regular feature of club activities.

How We'll Spend the Money Raised

All funds raised will be used directly to establish and support the new rounders initiative.

Estimated Project Budget

• Rounders equipment (bats, balls, bases, safety equipment and related participation equipment) – £700
• Training equipment (cones, markers, bibs, agility equipment and training aids) – £200
• FORZA Pro Boot Wiper & Scraper and equipment storage solutions – £300
• Programme delivery and participant engagement costs (including coaching, volunteer support, promotional materials and related project costs) – £300

Total: £1,500

Community Impact

This project will introduce a new recreational activity within Robert Emmets GAC and provide another way for people to become involved in the club.

Rounders requires little previous experience, making it accessible to a wide range of participants. We hope the initiative will encourage greater participation in physical activity, particularly among women and girls, while remaining open and welcoming to everyone.

As a rural area, opportunities for organised social activities can be limited, particularly during the autumn and winter months. By providing a regular Monday evening activity from September 2026 through to March 2027, the project will help people stay connected and engaged throughout the year.
