Rob joined Goodwood straight from school aged 16, initially as an aircraft engineering apprentice, making his way to Aviation General Manager before taking on and heading up the Flying School.
He was a one-man institution at the aerodrome, loved by all who came into contact with him and absolutely integral to everything we do in the aviation business.
His will be impossible shoes to fill and we will miss him terribly.
Robs family, along with Goodwood, will be running a flying school scholarship programme in his memory. Rob was so passionate when teaching his students and loved nothing more than watching their passion develop throughout their journey. A flying scholarship will be the perfect tribute and a very special student will be chosen for this award.
We know so many people have wanted to contribute towards this training programme and we hope you agree that this is the perfect way of continuing Robs legacy. We will continue to teach, nurture and develop students at Goodwood Flying School in the way that Rob so successfully managed.
