Hi all! I am Marta Baeza, Sabre Fencer from Brazil. Almost two years ago, not only did I fulfil my dream to become an Olympian at the 2016 Rio Olympics, but was able to do this in my home city. 

However, my dreams were dashed very early on in my first fight of the Olympic Games, as I tore my ACL and had to withdraw from the competition. After a long period of rehab from surgery I am now back on track and hoping to score a big result for my country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.  

Unfortunately, due to reasons outside the athletes' control, Brazil is offering no funding to finish the season, and with two World Cups, the Pan-American Championships and the World Championships taking place in Russia, Tunis, Cuba and China, this is a real problem. 

Throughout my career as an athlete I have learnt that nothing can be achieved without team work and I hope you will join me and be a part of my team in my mission to reach Tokyo 2020.
