We did it AV Greenwich Junior Group has raised funds to attend training camp in Bulgaria. Thanks all to your amazing support!

Who are we?

AV Greenwich is a professional rhythmic gymnastics club dedicated to helping young athletes reach their full potential through high-quality training and competitive opportunities at regional and national level.

Why are we crowdfunding?

AV Greenwich Junior group raising funds to train in Bulgaria, Sofia. Money will go towards air fair, accommodation and training camp.

To compete successfully at English and British Championship level, elite gymnasts are typically required to train between 16–20 hours per week and attend intensive preparation camps before major competitions. Unfortunately, we currently do not have access to suitable high-performance training facilities in Eltham that would allow our athletes to prepare adequately ahead of these important championships.

Our best available option is to attend a specialised gymnastics training camp in Bulgaria, where the girls would have access to appropriate equipment, coaching, and intensive preparation needed to reach their full potential. However, many of the families involved are unable to afford the cost of travel, accommodation, and camp fees.

These young athletes are exceptionally hardworking, disciplined, and passionate about representing their club and community at the highest possible level. With the right support, they have the talent and commitment to achieve outstanding results.

We are therefore seeking  financial assistance to help make this training opportunity accessible to all gymnasts within the group, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Any contribution would make a meaningful difference to these athletes and their future in the sport.

If you're applying for extra funding, this is a good place to demonstrate why your project is eligible so refer back to the criteria to help complete this section

Community impact

Community Impact

The AV Greenwich Junior Group project will have a significant positive impact on young athletes, families, and the wider local community in Eltham and Greenwich.

Supporting Young People Through Sport

The project provides talented young gymnasts with access to high-level training opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable due to limited local facilities and financial barriers. Participation in elite sport helps young people develop discipline, resilience, confidence, teamwork, and a strong work ethic that benefits them both inside and outside sport.

Equal Opportunities and Inclusion

Many families are unable to afford international training camps and specialist preparation required for English and British Championships. By securing funding support, the project ensures that opportunities are based on talent and commitment rather than financial circumstances, creating a more inclusive pathway for young athletes.

Positive Physical and Mental Wellbeing

Regular gymnastics training promotes healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, mental focus, emotional resilience, and positive routines for children and teenagers. The programme also provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment that encourages young people to stay engaged in positive activities.

Raising Aspirations and Local Pride

Success at national competitions inspires younger children within the community to participate in sport and aim high in their own ambitions. The achievements of the gymnasts help raise the profile of grassroots sport in Greenwich and Eltham and create a sense of pride within the local community.

Strengthening Community Connections

The project brings together coaches, volunteers, families, and local supporters who work collaboratively to help young athletes succeed. Fundraising events, sponsorship partnerships, and community engagement activities help strengthen relationships between local businesses, families, and sports organisations.

Long-Term Development of Grassroots Sport

Investment in this project contributes to the long-term development of gymnastics within the local area. The experience gained through international camps and national competitions helps athletes and coaches bring higher standards, knowledge, and inspiration back into the local gymnastics community, benefiting future generations of young gymnasts.
