Aim is to pay Rolo's Vet Bills

by Emily & Rolo in London, England, United Kingdom

Most of you know who RMDog is. If not, it's the creature that has been in my life for 12 years and goes by the name of Rolo. Said creature has caused a lot of stress and anxiety over the last week as he had chronic stomach problems that led to him being hospitalised in the doggo hospital on 4th July 2021.

You might wonder why I'm asking for help. I'm self-employed and not back on my feet from COVID-19 impact as the government hasn't helped me at all. I'm part of the 3 million excluded who haven't received any help from the government at all.  During June, July, August, and September, I had no work. It got so critical, I started to look at liquidation of assets. It was only a bank loan that saved me.  I don't count a bounce back loan as help because ultimately I still have to pay it back AND they still want my tax bill from me for work I was sucessful in getting.

Rolo's vet bills current as at 10:25am are £1250, with an added £650-800 coming because of ultrasound to work out what's going on in his stomach. In addition, when I hopefully bring him home, there will be costs of tablets and further check ups or worse case scenario, the cost to have him put to sleep and cremated (which breaks my heart just writing this).

Rolo has been more than just a dog to me, he's been my life long pal and in most ways, a mental health dog.  Rolo was the last thing that my mum and I decided together when she died of Pancreatic Cancer in 2010.  Rolo was less than a year old when she died and so Rolo has been there through that and the being made homeless.

He's not insured because as a Boxer, he has had troubles before with stomach that meant they wouldn't insure existing conditions even though vomiting and diarrhea would be a result of most illnesses, it still became either none existent or cost-prohibitive (£1000's a month) for a one-off chance that he gets really ill.

So I'm turning to his adoring fan base and hope you will all help me out even if you only have £1 to spare,  I do feel like I'm begging here but with COVID-19, I feel my dignity has already gone, thanks to receiving no help, I have no savings left.  I'm currently paying for his medical bills out of a tax fund and relying on friends to help me out as I don't have any family that can.

So yes, please help me raise the funds for Rolo's vet bills and not land me in even more debt than I already am thanks to COVID.

I hope to be bringing my pal home this afternoon once we know what's occurring inside his stomach of which I'll have an update this PM.

Thank you for any help you're able to give, if you can't help financially, i'd appreciate you sharing this with your network for anyone who might be a dog lover and understands the importance of him in my life.

You'll able to find more updates on Twitter, his account is @RMDog_UK.
