Why Rising Sons? And why now?
Every boy is becoming a man and who is helping them get there? Many fathers today are determined to raise their sons differently. They want their boys to grow up confident and compassionate, strong and emotionally aware, resilient without having to hide their feelings.
But many fathers are trying to give their sons a childhood that they never experienced themselves.
So many men grew up without the role models, conversations or emotional support they needed. They were taught to cope rather than connect; to stay strong rather than speak honestly. Now, as fathers, they are working hard to give their sons something more.
Rising Sons exists to help make that possible.
At a time when boys are being pulled in many directions by social media, influencers and conflicting messages about what it means to be a man, Rising Sons offers something simple but powerful: connection, belonging and positive male role models
We create spaces where fathers and sons can spend meaningful time together, build trust, have important conversations and connect. Through adventure, storytelling, challenge, play and reflection, boys learn that courage is not the absence of emotion. They learn that strength and vulnerability can exist side by side.
Just as importantly, fathers discover they are not alone.
They meet other men who care deeply about raising good humans. Men who want to challenge outdated ideas about masculinity. Men who want to support one another as fathers, partners, friends and role models.
We know that boys need trusted adults who can help them understand and express their emotions. We know that boys need friendships where they can be fully themselves.
We know that fathers need community and connection.
And we know that if we want a different future for boys, we must start creating it now.
We don't tell boys what kind of men they should become.
We help them discover who they already are.
And we help fathers walk beside them on that journey.
We are aiming to raise £16,100 to recruit and train ten excellent Facilitators to deliver the Rising Sons programme in their communities and to establish the solid foundations for a robust and long-lasting organisation. Please give generously.

A £5 donation equates to 1 entry to the prize draw
A £20 donation equates to 5 entries to the prize draw
A £50 donation equates to 15 entries to the prize draw
To enter without making a donation, send your full name, contact details on a postcard in an envelope with correctly paid postage only to Rising Sons 2026 Prize Draw 52 Wynches Farm Drive St Albans AL4 0XH. One entry per envelope/postcard. For further details see terms page.
