Rise Up Coffee: ethically sourced Ugandan beans supporting local communities—coffee that truly gives back.
From the red soils of Uganda to coffee cups across the UK — Rise Up Coffee is more than a business. It’s a mission.
When we first travelled through Uganda, we saw both the incredible richness of the land and the deep inequalities faced by the people who cultivate it. My partner, who was born and raised in Uganda, grew up surrounded by communities whose lives were affected by poverty — families who work tirelessly to produce some of the world’s finest beans, yet rarely see a fair return for their effort.
That experience changed us.
We realised that behind every great cup of coffee, there are real people — growers, pickers, roasters — whose work deserves recognition, dignity, and opportunity.
Our Mission
We started Rise Up Coffee to do two things:
Bring exceptional Ugandan coffee to the UK — fresh, flavourful, and ethically sourced and use our profits to uplift Ugandan communities.
Our beans are roasted in Uganda, creating more local jobs and keeping more value within the country before the coffee ever reaches the UK. Every cup or bag sold directly contributes to community-led development projects — from providing school supplies and clean water access to supporting women’s entrepreneurship.
Why “Rise Up Coffee”?
Because it’s about more than caffeine.
It’s about rising up together — farmers, roasters, and coffee lovers — to build a fairer, more sustainable future.
Every purchase is a small act of empowerment. Every cup tells a story of resilience and hope.
