We are raising funds to launch a 12-month a mental health-wellbeing and finance independence support programme for the long-term unemployed
We are submitting this application to Aviva Community Fund in support of Calm Minds-UK. (Our registered charity which is based in East London).
Calm Minds UK is a registered which is dedicated to alleviating physical and mental conditions among the most vulnerable individuals in our community. Our services are predominantly volunteer-led, with a dedicated team of skilled volunteers who work tirelessly to connect service users with relevant agencies and service providers. We offer tailored one-to-one guidance, practical support, and encouragement, helping individuals to overcome life challenges and build brighter futures.
Our Vision for the Funding:
With the support of this funding, we aim to launch the Mental Health Wellbeing and Financial Independence Initiative, a 12-month programme designed to provide targeted beneficiaries with guided training and support. This project will enhance participants’ financial independence skills and improve their mental wellbeing through a combination of workshops, one-on-one support, outdoor physical activities, and peer group sessions.
The initiative will focus on improving mental health wellbeing and support alongside financial literacy, reducing social isolation, boosting confidence, and empowering participants to manage their finances independently. Ultimately, this will contribute to stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
Objectives:
Improve mental and physical well-being.
Develop skills in documenting income and expenditure.
Understand and manage borrowing and credit responsibly.
Improve spending awareness and budgeting skills.
Monitor income and cash flow effectively.
Set realistic and achievable financial goals.
Foster social inclusion through community networking events.
Create sustainable pathways to employment and education.
Use of Funds:
The requested £12,000 will be allocated to:
Improve our Digital Support hub which provides many digital shy individuals (Including the elderly) with access to online services.
Development and delivery of workshops on financial skills, mental wellbeing, and career planning.
One-on-one mentoring and coaching sessions provided by trained volunteers and professionals.
Organizing physical outdoor sessions, and community networking events aimed at building confidence and social inclusion.
Purchasing educational materials, providing transport support, and ensuring digital access for participants.
Establishing partnerships with local employers and training providers to create employment and education opportunities.

Reduce addictions and the related health conditions.
Increase employability and essential skills within the community.
Strengthen community cohesion through active participation and mutual support.
