Help us to record a cast album of our new production The Rhythmics by Ben Glassstone & Poppy Burton-Morgan and share it to the world!

On the 4th May 2020 we'd raised £3,080 with 48 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
If we're able to raise a little more than our target then we'll be able to hire a couple more musicians and get an even better sound on the recording!
We're raising money to record our first ever cast album, for THE RHYTHMICS, and this is your chance to be a part of the story, not to mention being the first to hear it!
THE RHYTHMICS is our completely original new British musical - a heartwarming tale of fatherhood and gymnastic ribbons - with a gorgeously catchy score from Stiles & Drewe award winner Ben Glassstone, and lyrics by Ben and Metta’s very own Poppy Burton-Morgan. And while we’re doing everything we can to bring the production to fully staged life in 2021, in the mean time we’re going to record a studio album of the show, featuring West End performers including Neil McDermott (Pretty Woman, Sound of Music) and Olivier award nominee Kelly Price.
So we need your help! This is a first for Metta, and we need to raise £3000 to top up the £8000 that Metta is putting in, because it turns out recording an album properly is quite an expensive business! As you might already know most of our usual funding streams are currently suspended (including Arts Council England project grant funding - which is how we have funded our productions for the last 10 years) so if you can help support us and this lovely project in these unpredictable and somewhat scary times then please do. Plus you get to hear an album of glorious and uplifting songs at the end of it, so really it’s win win!
We’re aiming to record the album ASAP this spring/summer once we’re all allowed out of our houses a bit more, and to share it with the world late this Summer. And if we're able to raise a little bit more than our target then we'll be able to bring in a couple more musicians, and get an even better sound!
Here’s a video from Ben to whet your appetite for the music - this is a demo of Waiting to Begin.
Side note - this show (about a somewhat unreliable single father learning to commit to life) is a semi-autobiographical love letter to Poppy’s dad Louis, who is himself is very talented musician and will (finger’s crossed) be playing Saxophone on the album.
This is your chance to be part of an awesome new British musical, the kind of feel good story that we are all going to need this summer after we come out of self isolation.
So please hit those rewards buttons, join us on this journey and help us record the album so we can get it out you, the lucky ones who'll get to hear it first!
We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
