Aim

We’re launching a new campaign to #ReviveTheNHS this winter.

Every part of the NHS is at breaking point; but things are not hopeless. There are things which could be implemented by the government to improve things for NHS patients and staff this winter. 

We need immediate action, so we need to reach more people than we ever have before. We’ll raise public awareness about the problems and engage with politicians to share information and seek solutions. 

This winter is critical. Please donate to our new campaign today to fund us over the next 6 months to:

• Raise public awareness by gathering and sharing stories from the NHS frontlines via a new, dedicated twitter account.
• Work closely with the media to highlight what is happening.
• Engage with MPs to sign our pledge of 5 policies to maximise the NHS workforce and patient safety; run regular parliamentary briefings and hold meetings to highlight key concerns from staff.
• Collaborate with a new community of artists; from illustrators and cartoonists to graphic designers and videographers to launch new creative content to convey our messages, including videos with frontline staff, bold campaign actions and a new range of promotional materials.
• Build our team capacity to keep this campaign running throughout the winter into 2023.

We reference examples in England as things are incredibly stark, but the situation is dire across the whole of the UK. Almost 750,000 Scots are on NHS waiting lists for treatment, a hospital appointment or diagnostic testing. More than half (57%) of consultant posts in Northern Ireland were not filled this year and this summer only 1 in 5 nurses in Wales said they had enough time to provide the level of care to patients that they would like. All devolved nations need to act to protect patients + staff this winter.
