Jack and I (Rosie) are filmmakers who want to create meaningful films with purpose which raise awareness and open discussion for social change.

Jack a writer/director who has recently succeeded in signing a major production company to develop his TV series 'The Baths' continues to hone his craft by making short films and pilots with little to no budget.

Jack usually works freelance as a location manager allowing him to develop his personal projects on the side whilst still using his creative skills to find locations.

You can see more of Jack's recent work here:

I (Rosie) have worked across a mixture of productions over the years, including music promos, independent feature films, documentaries to high end TV series.

With a love for telling real stories and working in production, I aim to produce films with heart that make you think and feel.

Based in the North West, we both have family members who work in the medical field and this film topic is something of which is close to our hearts that we equally feel passionate about.

We want to tell a gripping story authentically in order to highlight the emotional and physical extent of which individuals who work in the NHS go through.

The film will be an honest portrayal of a struggling service which is: understaffed, over populated, under budgeted and overworked. But what our focus will be on is the strength of NHS workers who never stop to give the same upbeat enthusiasm to every patient they deal with.

For some years now Jack and I have desired to make a one-shot film.

Finally we have found the perfect story to tell which is deserving of this approach.

The one-shot decision will heighten the intensity and claustrophobia of a busy Urgent Care ward as we follow a Nurse throughout her busy shift as she goes from patient to patient.

We will leave little room to escape the action she faces to mirror her reality.

This approach, combined with brutally authentic performances and an intense sound design aims to elicit a powerful and emotional response from the viewer.

The money which we hopefully raise will cover the fees for hiring a hospital ward location for x2 days, the catering and travel expenses for crew, art department costs, supporting artists, costume costs, cast travel and post production costs.

Due to our history and connections in the film industry with many talented filmmaker friends, who also feel strongly about the films subject matter, our crew are happy to give their time over one weekend to bring this vision to life with us.

We propose, one day for rehearsals & one day to shoot.

If we can raise anything further we would love to be able to offer equal fees for everyone involved as a token of our gratitude.

We massively appreciate this is a big ask but we would be extremely grateful for any amount of donation towards crafting this film.

We hope that this film inspires conversation and recognition of our amazing NHS staff.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Please see the link below for Refuge, a film which we previously crowdfunded:

For Refuge, we raised a much smaller budget than the target for this film and since we made Refuge, we have developed our craft as film makers and believe we can truly make a film which is a step up.
